Grand Challenge Summary

We are a little late getting the meet report for the Grand Challenge meet out, but only because the host was later than usual getting the results to us. The grand challenge meet was attended by four coaches, with most of the heavy lifting from Coach Lynn and Loren.

We had another fine meet. Age groupers (12 and unders) had 6 first swims, 28 drops, and 17 adds.  That represents a success rate of 66.7%. Great job to all the coaches and swimmers.

Once again, every swimmer brought home at least one PR. A summary:

Vayla Maureen Barela had three PR's in 4 events.

Jack Busby had two PR's in 3 events. He swam the 200 free for a first time ever and posted a Silver standard.

Djenne Dickens had 5 drops in 6 swims, placing in every event, including first in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Benjamin Drajeske had his very first meet, and swam great, posting silver cuts in the 50 free and 100 breast.

Nikki Judd had 2 PR’s made Gold in the 200 IM, and placed 7 times, including 3rd in the 50 fly.

“B” Kanaly had one PR in the 300 breast.

Ethan Walter had 4 PR’s in 6 swims

Sarah Walters had 6 PR’s in 8 swims, and made Silver in the 50 fly.

Bryn Wells-Edwards, who has really picked up her game in workouts, received the benefits that she deserved. She swam only 3 events (1 day) but dropped in every event, a total on 20 seconds. Bryn placed 11th in the 200 breast.

Rhys Wells-Edwards had 100% PR’s placed in all three events he swam.
